The Property & Evidence Unit is open Monday – Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and is closed on all state and federal holidays.
Claiming Your Property
To claim your property, come to the City of Franklin Police Department with a valid picture ID and the case/voucher number. The Franklin Police Department is in possession of unclaimed bicycles that may be claimed by their rightful owners.
Guns & Ammunition
Guns or ammunition may be turned into the Franklin Police Department to be safely destroyed.
Anyone who collects a firearm must have a background check done to insure that they are eligible under Virginia Code to possess a firearm.
Notification of Held Property
In the event that you receive a letter indicating that the police department is in possession of property belonging to you, it may be a result of an incident you or a family member were involved in. Please contact the Property and Evidence technician.
