Divisions

Animal Control

The City of Franklin Police Department’s Animal Control Division is responsible for enforcing animal control ordinances within the city. Animal control officers also oversee the adoption of animals that have found their way into the city’s animal shelter. These officers investigate complaints of animal cruelty, nuisance animals, rabies exposures, animal bites, and wildlife complaints.

Patrol

Patrol Division is comprised of 4 squads with each shift having a Sergeant, Corporal and two Patrol Officers. The focus of the Patrol Division is to provide exceptional law enforcement and public service by addressing issues of crime, enhancing safety and improving the quality of life for the citizens of Franklin. The Patrol Division operates 12 hours shifts and man the streets twenty-four hours a day seven days a week.

Criminal Investigations

The Detective Bureau of the City of Franklin’s Police Department consist of several dedicated officers that are committed to the safety of the citizens, employees, and those who visit our city.

Special Operations

Special Operations is responsible for community outreach programs, neighborhood watch, and Project Lifesaver.

Emergency Communications

The Communications Division is the Public Safety Answering Point for all emergency services within the City of Franklin. When a call comes in, the Communications Officer ensures the proper agency gets the call. The Communication Division’s Officers are multitaskers, who not only work between multiple computer screens and programs but multiple radios as well.

Records Management

Records Management is responsible for management of police incident reports and other department records.
